1、草木灰是鉀肥的主要來源，而且含鈣較多，但是常呈堿性，所以不能給喜酸的花施用，更适合給喜堿的花施用，比如石竹、天竺葵、玫瑰、柽柳、紫穗槐、白蠟以及各種蔬菜。
2、除此之外，草木灰也适合養中性花卉，這類花卉對土壤酸堿度要求不嚴，隻要施用量不多就行，比如郁金香、風信子、瑞香、水仙、金盞菊等大部分花卉。
