1、全民國家安全教育日是為了增強全民國家安全意識，維護國家安全而設立的節日。
2、2015年7月1日，全國人大常委會通過的《中華人民共和國國家安全法》第十四條規定，每年4月15日為全民國家安全教育日。2021年4月15日是第六個全民國家安全教育日。活動主題為“踐行總體國家安全觀，統籌發展和安全，統籌傳統安全和非傳統安全，營造慶祝建黨100周年良好氛圍”。
